Selangor FC And MBSA Collaboration FatHopes Energy Launched a 30-Day Ramadan Challange Campaign To Recycle Used Cooking Oil (UCO)


SHAH ALAM, 20 March 2024 - Selangor Football Club (Selangor FC) and Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) in collaboration with FatHopes Energy launched the 30-Day Ramadan Challenge to Recycle Used Cooking Oil (UCO) to promote awareness in recycle cooking oil among the people of Selangor and the supporters of this team.

The launching event took place at Bazar Stadium Section 13 and was attended by the Chairman of Selangor FC, DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, Corporate Director & Public Relations of MBSA, Mohd Azhar Bin Mohd Sharif, Public Health & Environment Exco Policy Advisory Officer, Selangor, Sean Yi, Chief Executive Officer FatHopes Energy, Vinesh Sinha as well as a special appearance by Selangor FC Head Coach, Nidzam Jamil, as well as two Red Giants players, Fazly Mazlan and Khuzaimi Piee for celebrated the launch of the Used Cooking Oil (UCO) 30-Day Ramadan Challenge campaign.

This initiative was carried out to make the Used Cooking Oil Recycling campaign a success in order to strengthen the future of the community, especially the people of Selangor. This campaign has already started since the first day of Ramadan in three locations around Shah Alam namely Bazar Section 13, Bazar Section 17 and Bazar Section 19 with the cooperation of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) which operates from 4pm to 8pm. This campaign is to encourage the Selangor people to send a minimum of 1 Kilogram (kg) of used cooking oil to three designated locations. Among the benefits provided by Selangor FC and FatHopes are as follows:-

  • - 1kg-5kg will receive 1 home match ticket (tier 2) along with a RM5 voucher for Selangor FC merchandise and a chance to participate in Ramadan Rewards Day (lucky draw)

  • - 5.1kg-10kg will receive 1 home match ticket (tier 1) along with a RM10 voucher for Selangor FC merchandise and the opportunity to participate in Ramadan Rewards Day (lucky draw)

  • - Lucky draw winners will be announced on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of Ramadan throughout the campaign (prizes provided by Selangor FC)

Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon said, "Awareness of recycling used cooking oil needs to be fostered because it is good for the environment and economy. I hope that in this way I can help the people of Selangor to cultivate a healthy and frugal lifestyle in the future. In addition, with this initiative, Selangor FC is trying to give more encouragement to those who recycle by giving attractive benefits."

The management hopes that with this initiative, the people will be more aware of the 30-Day Ramadan Challenge Campaign to Recycle Used Cooking Oil and use our platform to recycle their used oil to prevent any disease and pollution from occurring.
